The Toddler Program at Meridian Montessori
Eighteen months to three: the stretch where language arrives, independence is asserted daily, and a prepared room does more than any lesson can.
Toddler openings today
3 toddler seats open as of September 20, 2026. Call (214) 856-6337 or see every classroom.

Our toddler classrooms are carefully designed to support the incredible growth that happens during this developmental stage. Children develop language, refine motor skills, and begin building independence through purposeful, hands-on activities in a prepared Montessori environment.
Every guide who leads a Meridian classroom is Montessori-trained.

“We absolutely love Meridian. Our 2-year-old son has been attending for a few months and we have seen incredible growth in his confidence, independence, and curiosity. The Montessori approach has been amazing for his development — learning practical life skills, socializing beautifully, and surprising us with new words and concepts every day.”

Good to know
In the words of our Parent Handbook:
- Children who are toilet learning should come to school in underwear (not pull-ups, unless specified by the teacher) with at least 3 complete changes of clothing. Toilet learning is approached with patience, encouragement, and no shame or punishment.

Toddler Program FAQs
How is a Montessori toddler classroom different from a daycare room?
A daycare room is organized around supervision; a Montessori toddler classroom is organized around what an 18-month-old is trying to do. Everything is at child height, the materials have a real purpose rather than a battery, and a child chooses their own work and repeats it as long as it holds them. The adult presents, then steps back.
How many children are in a toddler classroom at Meridian?
We run three toddler classrooms — Adventurers, Pathfinders and Navigators — at a 6:1 ratio, one adult to every six children. Every guide who leads a Meridian classroom is Montessori-trained.
When does a child move from the Toddler program into Primary?
Our Toddler program is for children 18–36 months and Primary for children 3–6 years, so the move comes around the third birthday.
Does the toddler program run year-round?
Yes. Toddler classrooms run Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, year-round. Meridian enrolls year-round on a rolling basis. Availability varies by classroom — schedule a tour to check current openings.
Are there toddler spaces available at Meridian right now?
Our Toddler classrooms are where seats most often come free, because children move up to Primary through the year. The openings shown on this page are read from our own enrollment records rather than a brochure, so what you see is what is actually free today.
